* I read quite honestly by John Mortimer. Quite honestly, it was a fun one-time read, nothing really special or memorable.
* i read how to meet the right man: a five-step strategy that really works by Roger Ratcliff, David Conaway & Diana Ohlsson. (Haiqa, I will share some advice with you when we meet). The main thing about such books is not whether they work, but they just lift up one’s spirits & give one the feeling that everything is possible.
*I read the Indian heritage: court life and arts under Mughal rule by the Victoria & Albert Museum. Amazing book! It has pictures of various objects (Shah Jahan’s wine cup, Mughal paintings, a piece of Tipu Sultan’s tent, Tipu Sultan’s swords, carpets, paintings, turban jewellery, huqqa, and ewers) owned and used by the Mughal & Rajput royals & their descriptions. I am a great fan of Mughal art - Shah Jahan’s white jade wine cup in the shape of a sea-shell; Janahgir’s dark green jade wine cup, white jade turban ornament set with rubies, emeralds and crystals in gold; gold & emerald spoon… what luxury & beauty! I would just love to be a Mughal empress at the prime of its rule. There is one thing that I am very interested in yet can’t find is the kind of jewelry Mughal women wore. I remember seeing a Mugahl queen’s earring at the Tariq-al-Rajab museum in Kuwait, but that was a long time ago.
I found some relevant photos online:
Shah Jahan’s wine cup:
Jahangir’s ink pot (dark green nephrite jade, mounted in gold).
This website has more pictures.
